FAQ

Using Oval Chainrings with INPEAK Power Meters

The use of an oval chainring causes the angular velocity to vary over the course of a single crank revolution. INPEAK POWERCRANK and POWERCRANK-E power meters assume a constant angular velocity over a single crank revolution.

This phenomenon can result in slight discrepancies in measured power versus actual power. However, in most cases and riding conditions, it will allow power readings to be within the specified accuracy range.

For the most accurate power readings, use the original round chainrings.
