The use of an oval chainring causes a strong variability of angular speed during one revolution of the crank mechanism. This phenomenon may result in slight discrepancies between the measured power and the actual power. This discrepancy is within 5% of the error. However, the error that occurs is constant and all measurements are repeatable – which is the basis for training on a given bike.
Additionally, it is possible to adjust the readings (e.g. matching the meter readings on another bike) using the “scale” option in the INPEAK Manager mobile application.
