A few years ago, our first dual power meter on road cranks was developed – POWERCRANK-E TWIN2. Today we would like to present you with its second version – the TWIN2. Even more precise, even more sensitive, even more compact and at the same time resistant to any damage.<\/p>\n\n

The new TWIN2 is not a revolution among power meters. It is a natural evolution. It is an upgrade that came about as a result of months of research and testing.<\/p>\n\n

What changes have we made?<\/h2>\n\n

We have adapted our new dual power meter to the design of the Shimano Ultegra FC-R8100 and Dura-Ace FC-R9200 cranksets. These cranks are bonded from two pieces of aluminium, which significantly changes the values and locations of the crank bending stress distribution during force application compared to cranks made with casting technology. After many months of simulations and tests, we found that we could achieve even better results. We searched for a long time for suitable strain gauges and locations, carried out a lot of tests and finally introduced additional measuring elements. We completely redesigned the housing and placed additional strain gauges on the sides of the crank. The result? An even more accurate gauge, even more sensitive to pedal pressure, even more stable, regardless of pedalling style.<\/p>\n\n

What else is special about the new TWIN2?<\/h2>\n\n

The new enclosure is made of damage-resistant plastic. It is slimmer, but at the same time reinforced in critical areas and therefore less prone to any mechanical damage. What is more, thanks to its very low profile, it will fit 99% of the frames available on the market. It is difficult to verify compatibility with all the frames in the world, so we have left ourselves a small margin for error.\ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n\n

Of course, like the previous model, the new TWIN2 is compatible with all sizes of original Shimano gears, so you can configure the drive as you wish.<\/p>\n\n
